Outspoken radio show host, Afia Pokuaa has joined scores of Ghanaians who have reacted to the video of TikTok influencer, Hajia Bintu selling ‘juju creams’.
Hajia Bintu made headlines after a video of her marketing a product she believes has the power to attract men when ladies use it on their bodies.
According to the TikTok influencer, when ladies use these products on their foreheads or other parts of their bodies, it will help them get whatever they wanted from men. Some of these products were labeled “F*ck and Stay,” “Do As I Want,” “Love and Stay.”
A lot of social media users including rapper Medikal and Archipalago reacted to the video. Medikal, unlike Archipalago who criticized Bintu for promoting love charms for women, defended the influencer and urged critics to allow the young woman to sell her love charms.
Afia Pokuaa aka Vim Lady has reacted to the video and stressed that Ghana’s constitution allows freedom of expression but where it is used to encourage girls to use “F*ck & Stay” and “Attraction to Rich Men” charms instead of encouraging girls to work hard and create their wealth like our Okaishie and Makola women become dangerous to the nation.
She furthered that countries like United Arab Emirates (UAE) block such contents to protect national values and public policies. She called on the minister of communication to act because there are little kids who use social media. Vim Lady added that Hajia Bintu may be selling the ‘juju creams’ to survive but she can be guided on how to advertise them.
Afia took to her Facebook handle and wrote;
Dear Min of Information &Communication, please, I know our constitution guarantees Freedom of Expression but where it is used to encourage girls to use “Fuck &Stay” and “Attraction to Rich Men” instead of encouraging girls to work hard and create their wealth like our Okaishie and Makola women does it not become dangerous to the nation?
In some countries like UAE, such content is blocked to protect NATIONAL VALUES AND PUBLIC POLICY. I know she may be doing it to survive but can we guide her because our children are on social media ohhhh😭🤦🏿♀️
