Ghana’s Education Minister, Osei Yaw Adutwum has called on the teachers’ unions to go back to the classroom and teach.
Even though he sympathizes with teachers’ struggles in the country, the minister wants them to take into account the current status of the economy and get back into the classroom in order to meet the requirements of kids and their families.
However, he noted, instructors are undoubtedly afflicted. “I have been in the classroom, I know what we go through, and I perfectly understand the situation, but I liase between the government and my colleagues teachers, and I will plead with them to reconsider their decision because it is affecting stakeholders including the parents, the children, and the government,” he said in an interview with sompa news.
There has been an indefinite strike by four teachers’ unions since Monday after negotiations with the administration resulted in a stalemate.
