President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the reopening of schools in his 21st update on measures taken by his government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

During his address to the nation, the President announced that schools are to reopen across the country on Friday, 15 January 2021 from Kindergarten to Senior High School while tertiary institutions were to reopen on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

President Akufo-Addo told teachers and students to adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols to avoid the closure of schools again.

“Wear your mask at all times. Wash and sanitize your hands regularly. Protect yourself. Protect each other. Protect your teachers. Protect your parents. But, please do not give me a reason to close down schools again. I pledge to do my best to keep your education going,” President Akufo-Addo stated in his address.

Well, some Ghanaians parents who spoke with Adepa TV today expressed gratitude and hail the President Akufo-Addo for the measures he has put in place prior to the reopening of schools. Parents who sent their wards to school today revealed that they were happy with how the covid-19 protocols were adhered to in various schools.
