Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo has reacted to illegal mining (Galamsey) activities destroying prime water bodies in Ghana.
Mr. Dumelo said if Ghanaians fail to tackle the galamsey menace across the country foodstuff and drinking water will soon be imported because there will be no water left to drink or cook with.
According to him, Ghana will lose its spot as the world’s 2nd largest cocoa-producing country due to the soaked chemicals used in the illegal mining process adding that all the farmlands will be wiped out.
“If we don’t tackle this galamsey menace we will lose our spot as the worlds 2nd producer of cocoa. Our farmlands will be totally wiped out, and we will start importing food.
“The few farmlands left will be SOAKED in chemicals. We will start importing drinking water,” he said.
