Ghana Police mentions names of two big men behind groups in Nima Sh00tings yesterday afternoon.

The police have through a press conference disclosed the progress on the matter so far.
According to Acting Director-General of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori the violence was between some two rivalry groups that “that never agreed on issues, and today [Tuesday], they went all out on the open streets of Nima,”
The confrontation was allegedly started by two gang bosses, Kumordzi, alias Ibrahim Hussein, and Bombon, alias Ali Awudu, according to the Acting Director-General of the Public Affairs Department.
He also stated that seven men have been arrested with two men on admission in the hospital.

“They are rivalry groups that never agreed on issues, and today [Tuesday], they went all out on the open streets of Nima,”

“We have nipped the violence in the bud. We are in control and would like to let the people know that the police are there at Nima to protect lives and property, and we will not give room for such criminals to disturb the peace and security of Nima” Director-General of Police Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, explained.

Meanwhile, the Financial and Economic Division of the High Court has made orders concerning properties of Chief Executive Officer of gold firm Menzgold.

This comes after the Director of Economic and Organized Crime Office(EOCO), Lawyer Abu Issah had moved a motion for the properties of NAM1 and Menzgold to be auctioned.

“We have a motion on notice for the discharge of confirmation and further prayer for official auction for the properties of respondents” (Menzgold and NAM1).

Moving the application which was filed on November 19, 2021, counsel said, the applicant (EOCO) and other corroborative agencies found out that, the respondents have engaged in money laundering and other serious offences contrary to sections of the Economic and Organised Crime Office.

Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe who presided over the court said orders of the court for the official auction of the properties of NAM1 would be made ready today, January 19, 2022.
