Football is run by footballers not big grammar — Stephen Appiah

Former Black Stars skipper, Stephen Appiah has shared his opinion on how former players have been sidelined in the administration of Ghana football.

The footballer speaking in an interview on Sompa Fm opened up on the readiness of former Black Stars players to help make Ghana football a better one.

The former Juventus star suggested that Ghana football should be run by footballers, not persons who claim to have power over the Queen’s language (English) or speak impeccable grammar.

According to him, the success of the sport in a country has nothing to do with big grammar.

“Sometimes the legends, the former players don’t get the chance. I have observed that football is run by footballers. It is not about the grammar that you will use. I hope that one of us will one day have the chance to come and lead Ghana football.

“Some of us are very humble…We all want to help,” Stephen Appiah said.

In the past, many Ghanaians have called for Stephen Appiah to contest for the Presidency of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
