Ghanaian rapper Medikal has been remanded in police custody for five days by an Accra Circuit Court on Friday, October 22.

This comes after the musician was arrested for brandishing a gun on social media.

Born Samuel Adu Frimpong was charged with unlawful display of arms and ammunition to which he pleaded guilty.

Section 7 of the Arms and Ammunitions Act stipulate that “No person shall, except in accordance with the terms of a permit granted under this Decree or with the written consent of the Inspector-General of Police, publicly display any arms or ammunition (including explosives) or discharge any firearm or other weapon in any public place.“

At the court premises, his relatives and friends including his wife Fella Makafui were present to show their love.

After Medikal’s remand, media personnel who were present started taking videos and pictures of the rapper an action that triggered Fella Makafui to instruct them to stop.
