Family of chief who d!ed of su!cide denies claims he lost ¢120k to betting

The family of a 76-year-old chief who allegedly committed suicide has refuted claims that their relative k!lled himself after losing GH¢120,000 to AFCON betting.

It was reported that the chief committed suicide by shooting himself to death after losing some cocoa farmers’ money to betting in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

However, the family of the deceased claims his suicide was not influenced by betting but the activities of fraudsters.

The Chief of Dawereso, Okogyeatuo Amoako Agyeman speaking in interview said the deceased gave his vehicle to some persons who promised to sell it for him. He added that the men promised to sell the guy and settle the chief’s debt and bring brink back his balance.

The men ran away after receiving the car, its keys and papers.

Nana Okogyeatuo believes that incident may have been haunting the deceased compelling him to shoot himself.
