Ghana’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has fulfilled his promise to pay the rent of veteran actor Psalm Adjetefio.
Dr. Bawumia promised to support TT of Taxi Driver tv series after a video of him opening up on his health and financial difficulties in an interview went viral.
In the interview, the former star of the screens lamented his fate whilst describing himself as a charity case.
He revealed he has no source of income and lives on the benevolence of people. And disclosed that he urgently needed to cough up Ghc3,000 cash for six months advancee payment or face eviction.
His sad story touched the heart of Dr. Bawumia and made him pay five years rent for him.
The spokesperson of the Vice President, Dr. Gideon Baako who did the donation said;
“Despite mourning his mum who died in the early hours of today. Dr. Bawumia this morning fulfilled a promise he made yesterday to TT of Taxi Driver fame that he will foot TT’s rent bills. Dr. Bawumia has paid 6 months renewable for the next 5 years (30k) for TT and has also given TT 20k for upkeep. In all, he gave TT 50k this morning.”
