General Secretary of National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia has charged the Minority Caucus in Parliament to use all means to ensure that the controversial electronic levy bill is not passed.
Mr. Nketia speaking to Ashanti Regional Youth Wing of the NDC in Kumasi on Sunday, February 6, 2022 stressed that the Minority Caucus should make sure that the right thing is done even if slapping the 1st Deputy Speaker, Hon Joseph Osei Wusu will make him do the right thing, they shouldn’t hesitate to do so.
“So long as impunity will not stop, resistance has been imposed on us as a duty. If a deputy speaker decides to vote and at the same time play the role of a referee if slapping him will make him do the right thing, don’t hesitate,” he noted.
He also charged the NDC sympathizers to adopt a winning attitude since that’s the only way to win the upcoming general election.
“NPP won Hohoe because they adopted a winning attitude although, we know a lot of things didn’t go down well”.
He also called for party unity saying “factions are affecting the NDC in the Ashanti region; the camp syndrome is affecting the party in the region and must stop immediately. You need to stick together to wrestle power from your main opponent,” he added.
