Deputy Sports Minister reveals why Kwesi Appiah’s 5 months salary arrears haven’t been paid after years on complaints.

The Deputy Sports Minister, Perry Curtis Kwabla Okudzeto has provided Ghanaians with the reason for the delay or should I say block in Kwesi Appiah’s Salary.

Well, he explained that there were some unresolved issues between the former coach, Kwesi Appiah, and the Ghana Football Association before the contract between the parties was terminated, and it affected the salary arrears.

He categorically stated that the coach arrears will be paid when the issues at hand are resolved.

“I know that the [Sports] Ministry is in talks with Kwasi Appiah and at the appropriate time, ones the issues are ironed out, he would be paid,” he told Elton Brobbey on Joy News.

The Deputy Sports Minister also speaking about Ghana Premier League being played behind closed doors.

said “It’s important that this is managed in a holistic way. That’s why the President of the Republic [Nana Akufo-Addo] is managing it the way it ought to be so we cannot be in isolation as a sector we have to be sort of be in the mix of what generally is been done to manage the case in Ghana. We would have to get to the point where government decides it’s okay to have public gatherings,”
