Nigerian singer, Davido gave green light to his lookalike to perform his song at a nightclub. This has caused a lot of Ghanaians to react following the recent lookalike trend saga in the country.
In recent weeks, the emergence of lookalikes has become a topic of interest on social media, with some expressing concern over the phenomenon.
There have been claims that these individuals are hired to perform at events, where they are paid for performing the songs of the main artist without prior consent.
Many have asked real celebrities to issue a strong warning to these persons claiming to be their lookalikes. Medikal, Kuami Eugene, Shatta Wale and other celebrities have reacted to to the lookalike trend. They have cautioned their self-acclaimed lookalikes to halt impersonating them before they take legal action against them.
However, Nigerian-based singer Davido sees nothing wrong with his lookalike performing his song.
During the birthday party of Nigerian socialite, Obi Cubana, the Nigerian singer and his look-alike were spotted in the club and he gave him his blessing to perform his latest banger, ‘Unavailable’ at the party.
Excited Davido stood among the crowd and watched happily whilst laughing. The said lookalike who has been portraying himself as Davido in social media posts and skits took to his Instagram page to share his excitement.
According to him, Davido asked him to perform the song. He wrote “Wow thanks 🙏 to God I finally see @davido at @obi_cubana birthday 🎂 @davido say make i perform unavailable for him cheee I don blow“. Check out the performance in the video belo.
