Tema High Court has thrown out the new lawsuit the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi filed against Afia Schwarzenegger.
Chairman Wontumi through his lawyer, Maurice Ampaw sued Afia Schwar for violating the terms of her previous release in a contempt case.
As we recall, Afia failed to appear in court after being hit with a defamation lawsuit by Chairman Wontumi. Consequently, she was found guilty of contempt of court and was sentenced to 10 days in prison, which she evaded.
She later turned herself in and apologized for her actions, and her lawyer requested that she be fined instead. In order to avoid serving her prison sentence, the socialite was required to sign a bond of good behavior for 36 months and pay a fine of GHC60,000.
The court also prohibited her from commenting on the case on any platform during the bond period and warned that any violation of these orders would result in her being brought back to court.
However, after closely monitoring events on social media, Chairman Wontumi realized that Afia Schwarzenegger has disregarded all of the court’s rules.
Wontumi’s legal team filed a new lawsuit, requesting that the court punish Afia Schwarzenegger for continuing contempt by violating the terms of the court’s judgment.
Afia and her legal team appeared before the Tema High Court earlier today but Chairman Wontumi and his team were not present. As a result, the court dismissed the case upon request of Afia’s lawyer, Nkrabea Effah Dartey.
