Carlo Ancelotti hinted to change Antonio Rudiger’s position at Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that he may play Antonio Rudiger in a different role to keep David Alaba and Eder Militao together.

After his Chelsea contract ended, the German international joined Los Blancos on a free transfer earlier in the transfer window.

When he played for Chelsea, Rudiger was usually positioned on the left side of the back three. However, his debut for Real Madrid suggests that he may be moving to the right side.

When Antonio Rudiger made his Real Madrid debut against Barcelona, he played on the left side of the defense.

In Los Blancos’ 1-0 loss to Barcelona in Las Vegas last week, the defender was used as a left back.

“I liked him a lot,” Ancelotti remarked of Rudiger following his team’s defeat by their bitter rivals. Because I’m not a lunatic, and because he is, too.

The same way he can switch positions against Alaba, he can play in that position as well. Fortunately, this time they didn’t, as everything went swimmingly on the first try.

Alaba will only play left back “when necessary.”‘ This year, I don’t want to switch things up with the same duo as last.’

Rudiger could be used out of position in the future, according to coach Carlo Ancelotti.

In the Spanish capital, David Alaba and Eder Militao have developed an amazing partnership.

In the friendly against the United States, the Italian manager went with his tried-and-true defense pairing of Alaba and Militao.

Last season, they were instrumental in helping Real Madrid win LaLiga and the Champions League.

Due to the departure of long-time left-back Marcelo, it’s likely that Rudiger will return to the starting lineup.
