Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, the police officer accused of fatally shooting Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maadwoa, in Adum-Kumasi, has reportedly confessed to the crime.
The revelation was made in the prosecution’s document, which was read out in open court on Tuesday, April 25.The incident has caused a stir, and an emotional atmosphere was evident at the Asokore Mampong District Court, where the police required backup to escort the accused from the premises.
Inspector Twumasi has been charged with murder, and it was revealed in court that he used a service pistol to carry out the act.
When asked if he had anything to say, Inspector Twumasi, although not allowed to plead guilty or not guilty at that point, responded by saying, “I have no intention to commit the crime; what happened is between me and God.” Following the hearing, Inspector Twumasi was remanded into police custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday, May 30.
