Black Sherif topping chart in Nigeria is not an achievement — Kiki Marley

Ghanaian singer, Kiki Marley has said that Black Sherif topping music chart in Nigeria with his ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ song is not an achievement worth celebrating.

The Rufftown Records signee said this while speaking in an exclusive interview with Sammy Kay monitored by Adepanews.com.

According to the young rising musician, Black Sherif should aim at topping global or the international market not apple chart in Nigeria. She believes Blacko has been overhyped for just topping chart in Nigeria.

Kiki Marley went on to say that Nigerian musicians who top charts in Ghana do not make noise or celebrate because their target is making it to the international market.

Sherif’s new hit single, ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ is the first Ghanaian song to become number one on the Top 100 Apple Music Chart in Nigeria.

The song is also number one on Ghana’s Top 100 Apple Music Chart.

This is a feat that no Ghanaian musician has achieved in recent times, especially when Ghanaian music industry stakeholders have been keen to see Ghanaian songs penetrate the Nigerian music scene.
