Bawumia admits times are hard, calls for Ghanaians support

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has finally admitted that the economy is facing challenges.

Dr. Bawumia speaking at the 70th anniversary celebration of the Lady of Mercy Catholic church at Tema Community One, he said the economy will bounce back. He also called for support from Ghanaians.

Citing the book of Isaiah 40:31, as a source of hope for the citizenry, he said “the Word of God reminds us, but for those who would hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings of eagles, they will run and they will not grow weary. They will walk and will not be faint.”

The Vice President speaking on the economy admitted there are hard times in the economy and government counts on all Ghanaians to support in averting the challenges.

“These two scriptures, people of God, recognise that as children of God there will always be moments of hopelessness, despair, doubt, fear and uncertainty but our hope in God is always our source of strength and the motivation in these periods.

“As your government, we do recognise the difficulties and uncertainty we are experiencing in our country but with renewed strength and hope in the word of the Lord, we are forever confident that we will ride this and turn things around to the glory of our Lord,” he said.
