The Leader of Light House Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills is currently in hot waters for allegedly hurling insults at Ashanti King, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
The renowned man of God trended on social media a couple of days ago after an audio of him attacking the Ashanti King went viral. In the video, the clergyman is heard accusing Otumfour of dabbling in self-glorification whilst his compatriots kings elsewhere impacts the lives of their subjects.
After the audio went viral, a lot of social media commentators chastised the man of God for going after Asantehene.
Well, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills released a statement apologizing to Otumfour for some of the utterances he made in the audio.
Despite the apology, some concerned youth groups in the Ashanti Region has vowed to close down all the branches of the church in the Ashanti Region.
In a lengthy statement released by the groups; Asante Youth Association (AYA), Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA), Asante Zongo Youth Union (AZOYU), Asante’s Student Union (ASU) and Mponponsuo in the USA the letter issued by the clergyman begging for forgiveness is an ‘insult’ to the King and should he fail to seek counsel with the King at Manhyia Palace with 48 hours, they shut down his churches.
The group indicated that Dag Heward-Mills’ comment is part of a grand agenda to defame the Asantehene.
“We know that there is a grand agenda to defame the king Solomon of our time, and such characters must be dealt with to the brim. They should know that where their boundary of liberty ends, there others liberty begins.
