Ex-Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has revealed in an interview his intention to organize a farewell game for the late Christian Atsu to raise funds for the bereaved family.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, Baby Jet as affectionately called said, “I’m planning to organize a game to raise money for the family. I believe when that day comes, everyone including the stars will come on board to support us so that we can raise funds for the family of Christian Atsu.”
Atsu died in the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6 killing about 4,500 people.
Atsu who scored in Hatayaspor’s game against Kasimpasa few hours earlier before the earthquake struck was trapped under the rubble for 12 days before his lifeless body was retrieved.
The former Newcastle United midfielder mortal remains arrived in Ghana on Sunday via Turkish Airplanes and has been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital.
