Asamoah Gyan blasts Kotoko fans in a new video after they subjected him to boos.
The former Sunderland and Al Ain ace was introduced on the 78th minutes in their matchday 22 game against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Winger Augustine Okrah scored the only goal of the game on the 13th minutes to end the game 1-0 in favour of the Porcupine Warriors.
However, Gyan was booed when he stepped up to take a free kick on the 79th minutes.
Before signing to Legon Cities, the player was in talks with Kotoko and a deal was almost signed till Legon Cities came in with their deal which he signed.
Speaking in the post-match conference about the incident, the 34-year-old pulled no punches and called the Kotoko fans out for what he described as hypocrisy.
He called them hypocrites because according to him most of them boast with his name when they travel abroad and when they see him they hail him but when they meet other people on the field is a different thing altogether.
”There is only one Asamoah Gyan. They [the fans] can boo, they know they are hypocrites but they know there is only one Asamoah Gyan,” he said.
“There is only one Asamoah Gyan, they can say I am arrogant, I will be arrogant because they know the hard truth. I’m just here to help my team.
“They should even be thankful I’m in the league. So it is what it is,” he said.
