Armed NPP Youth attack Party Constituency Chairman

Reports reaching Adepanews establishes that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Lawra Constituency in the Upper West Region, Alhaji Mohammed Donkor, has been reportedly assaulted by some armed members of the party.

This dreadful incident is said to have materialized on Sunday, November 22 at about 11:30 pm GMT.

According to sources, these unidentified NPP supporters who were armed to the teeth ambushed and seized a campaign vehicle designated to the chairman’s driver.

Alhaji Donkor after the incident noted that although his team was attacked during the raid, they all maneuvered perfectly and escaped untouched.

He elaborated on the matter saying; “We returned from Brifor Chaa where we went for a campaign. So when we got to Lawra I asked the driver to go and drop some people who traveled from the village to support us in the campaign.

“So it was on his way that the boys attacked him and took my vehicle away,” he added.

Mr. Donkor disclosed that the occurrence has been reported to the Lawra Municipal Police Command for investigation.

Mr. Goveh Mustapher who is the Upper West Regional Organiser of the NPP touched on the matter after he disclosed that party leaders have been briefed on the alleged attack.

According to him, Alhaji Donkor has been charged with using the party’s pickup to campaign against the Lawra MP and Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Anthony Abaefaa Karbo.

But some party supporters claim the regional executives of the party have already taken sides in the feud between the Lawra MP and the party chairman.
