The thirteen teenagers who drowned after they went swimming at Apam Beach in the Central Region will be laid to rest at a joined burial service on Tuesday morning.

A government delegation is expected in Apam to support the grieving families lay their children to rest in a ceremony that is expected to be held under strict COVID-19 protocols.

The deceased aged between 12 and 17 lost their lives went swimming on Sunday, March 7, 2021, throwing the Apam town into a state of shock and mourning.

President Akufo-Addo has already donated an amount of GHC36,000 to the bereaved families through the Minister for fisheries.

His opponent in the 2020 presidential race, former President John Dramani Mahama also followed suit when he donated an amount of GH¢ 10,000 to families through a delegation led by his running mate, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
