Another train accident happens in Western Region 4 days after a previous one occurred.

4 days ago, a train accident in the Western Region is feared to have claimed the lives of an unknown number of passengers.

The cause of the head-on crash is unknown as both trains were said to be headed opposite directions on the Tarkwa-Kojokrom route.

And on Tuesday around 7:30 pm, a second accident was recorded.

This was after a tipper truck collide with a manganese haulage train.

At the spot, some three persons got injured.

Reports indicate that the driver of the tipper truck attempted to speed through the railroad crossing at Sekondi Nkontompo, ignoring warnings that a train was approaching, leading to the collision.

The deceased, Mr. Nunoo-Amarteifio, was the boss of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) from 1994 to 1998 under former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Nunoo-Amarteifio served as an occasional guest critic for the Ghanaian Times and Sunday Mirror after returning from the US as well as Canada where he worked as an architect and consultant.
