‘Angry’ landguards storm Ashalaja with cutlass, burns down office

Suspected land guards have caused tension in Ashalaja, a town located in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, following an attack on the Nii Akwanor Royal Family Land Secretariat.

Reports indicate that the assailants, numbering around 20, stormed the office and set it ablaze. In addition, they inflicted cutlass wounds on two workers, including Hajia Alima Saidu, who recounted her traumatic experience of being chased with weapons and struck with a concrete block while attempting to flee.

The Atofohene of Ashalaja, Nii Kadri Osumanu, expressed his concern over the incident and called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to focus on the area to prevent further loss of lives and properties.

Nii Abbey Akanfra, who oversees the Akwanor Royal Family Secretariat, was shocked by the attack and urged the police to investigate the matter. He further revealed that the perpetrators were captured on CCTV footage, which he believes will aid the investigation.
