Actor Will Smith slaps comedian Chris Rock in the face on stage at the Oscars

Actor Will Smith has slapped comedian Chris Rock in the face after the latter made a joke about his wife’s hair loss on stage.

The audience and television watchers initially thought it was a stunt until Will shouted angrily twice from his seat, “Keep my wife’s name out your … mouth.”

Will Smith later apologized when he mounted the stage to claim his first Oscars after three decades of acting.

Will Smith had been nominated for best actor in 2007 for “The Pursuit of Happyness” and in 2002 for “Ali.” He previously lost to Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker.

He finally won an Oscar for starring in “King Richard” as the coach and father of Venus and Serena Williams.

He later apologized while taking his prize, but not to the man he slapped.

I join all barbering salons in Ghana that have used Will Smith’s photos to freely advertise their “handiworks” in congratulating him on what appears to be the most coveted addition to his trophy box.
