Kumawood star, Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lilwin has fired some shots at Food and Drugs Authority and Gaming Commission of Ghana for banning celebrities in the country from advertising for alcoholic beverages and betting companies.
According to the actor cum musician, the decision taken by FDA and Gaming Commission does not favour celebrities in Ghana making life difficult for them. The advertisement and endorsement for alcoholic beverages are other major sources of income to celebrities in Ghana so FDA should take a second thought of it.
Speaking on Mona Gucci’s show ‘Link Up’ on Kantanka TV on Friday, October 16, 2020, the actor fumed that if FDA has banned celebrities from advertising for alcoholic beverages for it has negative effects on children in Ghana, then politicians should also be banned from using them for their campaigns for politics also have negative effects on the child.
Rufftown Records signee Wendy Shay has already vowed to take FDA and Gaming Commission to court. Shatta Wale and other celebrities have also added their voices to the ban asking the Food and Drugs Authority and Gaming Commission to take certain things into consideration and amend the law.
