Lawmaker for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi has urged Ghanaians to embrace the controversial Electronic transaction Levy (E-Levy) or have the Free Senior High School policy abolished.
According to him, Ghanaians should accept the much-hated E-levy to prevent the Nana Addo-led administration from going to International Monetary Fund(IMF) for assistance which will lead to the cancellation of the free SHS policy.
“If we don’t pay the E-levy and we go to the World Bank or the IMF for loans, they will ask Akufo-Addo to cancel the free SHS which will affect your children so you must all accept the E-levy and pay it so it helps all of us,” Okyere Baafi told members of his constituency during a town hall meeting.
In other news, the Bono Regional Chairman of ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffour popularly known as Abronye DC has alleged that John Mahama has planned with AI Qaeda terrorist group to stage a coup in Ghana.
According to the outspoken Regional Chairman, the former President has met with the Al Qaeda to assist overthrow the current government and become President again.
His comment comes while reacting to the arrest of #fixthecountry convenor Oliver Barker on his attempt to stage a coup in Ghana if the much-hated electronic transaction levy is passed.
Speaking on Hot 93.9 FM, Abroye quizzes why the NDC flagbearer will tweet under Mr. Barker’s coup post if he has no idea of what he is planning for.
