An O.A bus travelling from Techiman to Bawku is reported to have caught fire last night April 10, 2020 with no casualties recorded

The bus with registration number AS 1557 – 17 was heading to Bawku from Techiman in the Bono East region when it caught fire at Paninamisa near Kintampo.

Passengers in the bus had to break the glasses to be able to escape from the burning vehicle

The cause of the fire has not been established but no passenger was hurt.

The Kintampo-Tamale highway has become notorious for some of the tragic accidents in the country.

Statistically, the Kintampo-Tamale highway has claimed more than 150 lives since 2016 with the latest accident claiming 27 lives in March 2020.

In February 2016, at least 53 people were killed and 23 others were injured in a head-on collision between a Metro Mass bus and a truck.
