Prampram Police command in the Greater Accra Region, has apprehended 35 Nigerians who are members of cyber criminal syndicate in the country.
The suspects, who are currently in police custody were busted in their 3 -bedroom apartment in Dawhenya, a suburb of Prampram in the Ningo Prampram District.
Divisional Police Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Cecilia Arkoh, disclosed that the criminals were arrested following a tip off from a resident.
According to the crime officer, 3 out of the suspects revealed that, they were brought into the country from Nigeria by one CHIDO.
The 3 suspect noted that they came on the intention of them securing factory job but they given no legal job as promise and were forced to partake in the online illegal business.
Their distress call to a neighbor sparked attention of the police in the area.
Police personnel were immediately dispatched after some investigations and this led to the arrest the said Chido and the other 34 criminals.
The number of Nigerians arrested in the Prampram division for similar offences is 60 but the district police has promised to clamp down on these individuals.
