215 Police recruits have recover from COVID-19, Maame Tiwaa has said.
Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah is currently the Director-General, Welfare of the Ghana Police Service. She is the first female Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College located in Winneba, the Central Region of Ghana to be precise.
The 215 Police recruits who have recovered from COVID-19 were all in the at the Pwalugu Police Training School in the Upper East Region who contracted COVID-19.
The staggering number of affected recruits was out of a total number of 274 trainees in the Upper East region.
Maame Yaa Tiwaa made this disclosure while speaking on the Alert show with Adam Bonaa.
The former CID boss said: “Yesterday, I was at the Pwalugu Police Training School and for the first time, they recorded 100% negative cases in relation to COVID-19. The trainees had a feast to celebrate the feat achieved.”
She noted all police officers have been given two reusable nose mask in order to protect them from the virus.
She also disclosed that all inmates who have been infected by the disease have all recovered from the disease.
Ghana currently has recorded 390 new cases bringing the active Cases to 4,361 sadly some 112 have also lost their lives.
