2020 Elections: There should be peace so that I can enjoy my wealth – Kennedy Agyapong

Maverick politician and Member of Parliament(MP) for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has sent a piece of advice to Ghanaians ahead of the forthcoming general elections. The controversial MP has advised the youth to desist from any electoral violence on December 7.

The Assin Central lawmaker said in an interview on Accra-based Asaase Radio that he has acquired a lot of wealth and he needs peace to enjoy therefore he is against any form of violence in this year’s elections that will hinder him from enjoying his wealth.

Mr. Agyapong advised the youth not to submit themselves when a politician invites them to embark on any violence-related activities during and after the elections.

According to him, he is a man of peace, and no matter the situation he’ll choose peace over violence because he has acquired a lot of money and when Ghana is at war, he won’t get peace to spend them.

“I tell Ghanaians Kennedy Agyapong is for peace and not for violence because if there is violence, I will not even get the opportunity to enjoy my wealth so I will be the last person to encourage violence in this country. I want to encourage peace, let us live in peace, let us vote in peace and after this, we are one people.”

Also, Chairperson for the Electoral Commission Madam Jean Mensa has urged the youth to desist from violence and should not allow themselves to be used.

“I would like to use this opportunity to call on the youth not to allow yourselves to be used to foment trouble. Be it on the streets or social media. You must not allow yourself to be used. Let us say no to violence,” she noted.
